This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our online learning platform, available at https://course.crewcrosscheck.com.

Privacy is important to us.

Information We Collect

We collect the following types of personal information:

  • Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and login credentials.
  • Communications: We collect your email address when you contact us or opt to receive updates and policy notifications.

We don’t handle payments directly on the platform, so your card details are never ours to fumble.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide access to our course content
  • Manage and maintain your user account
  • Respond to support or customer service inquiries
  • Notify you of important changes, including updates to this policy
  • Improve our services through privacy-conscious analytics
  • If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

Analytics and Tracking

We use Matomo — a privacy-friendly tool that skips the creepy surveillance tactics. No third-party cookies. No ads. No data sales. Matomo also respects “Do Not Track” signals.

We do not display ads, use ad trackers, or sell your personal data.

Your Learner Account

We use LifterLMS to provide and manage access to our online training courses. When you enrol in a course, LifterLMS collects and stores information required to deliver the training, including your name, email address, course progress, quiz results, and completion records.

This information is used to:

  • Create and maintain your learner account.
  • Track your progress through courses.
  • Provide certificates or other evidence of completion.
  • Allow us to support your learning experience.

LifterLMS does not use your information for its own purposes. Data collected through LifterLMS remains under our control and is subject to this privacy policy. Access to your learning data is limited to authorized members of our team who need it to deliver the training.

International Users

By using our services outside the United States, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to and processed in the U.S. We protect international data in accordance with applicable global privacy laws.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate or outdated information
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to certain types of processing
  • Withdraw consent for future communications

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us through our Contact Page.

Data Retention and Security

We retain user data as long as necessary for course access, legal compliance, and legitimate business purposes. We implement safeguards to protect your personal information from unauthorized access or misuse.

Media

If you upload images, avoid including location data (EXIF GPS). Other users could download and see where that photo was taken. We’d all rather skip that drama.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Changes to This Policy

If we make major changes, we’ll let you know — via email or a banner.
